Setting the Event Date

Best practices on when to set your event

Written by GivingZone

You can choose to have your event on a specific date or throughout a week of practice.

Specific Date (Example: We will be taking our shots on July 4th.)
Choose this if you want to get everyone together at the same time to take their shots (run laps, hit balls..).

During a week (Example: We will be taking our shots during the week of July 4th.)
Great of teams on the go. If you can not nail down a date just have the players attempt their shots (laps, kicks, hits...) throughout a week of practice. If you can't have them do it all in one practice spread it over a couple.

Ideas for your event:

  • Invite friends and family members to cheer on the players!

  • During the event you can add a parent breakout session for upcoming travel information or have a speaker come in.

  • Make a sign up for families to bring music, snacks and drinks. If you have a large organization make it a potluck or see if a local restaurant will donate a meal.

  • Make sure to bring everyone together for a photo!
